Ice Cream Sundae Birthday Cakes

These custom cakes were created for a double birthday celebration. Each life-size scoop was baked to taste like the actual ice cream flavor. The strawberry scoop is strawberry cake with strawberry frosting, the vanilla scoop is white cake with vanilla buttercream, and the chocolate scoops is chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. Yum! The cherries and sprinkles are made of fondant and the cherry stem is a candle all ready for birthday wishing.

Teddy Bears and Rubber Duckies Baby Shower

A dear friend of mine had a baby shower this past weekend. The theme of the shower was bed and bath time, so I decorated these cakes accordingly. A set of ten Level 4 cakes, each mini cake was frosted with vanilla almond buttercream, covered with a fondant blanket, and topped with either a sculpted fondant teddy bear or rubber duckie. Each cake also had a fondant star and letter attached to the front and the series spelled, “Welcome Baby.” Five of the cakes were triple fudge cookies with peanut butter buttercream (this is turning out to be one of my favorite combinations) and the other five were white cookies with vanilla almond buttercream. I had a blast scuplting all the little figures and making these sweet cakes for my sweet friend!

Kitty Cat Birthday Cake

This little birthday boy knew exactly what kind of cake he wanted for his 7th birthday. The Level 4 cake is made of triple chocolate fudge cookies and is filled and frosted with peanut butter buttercream. What a fantastic flavor combination! The birthday boy asked for a finish of sky blue fondant covered in multi-colored swirls and topped with a fondant sculpture of an orange striped kitty snacking on some milk. This tiny kitty (less than 1 inch long) is based on one of his stuffed animals and was a lot of fun to make. Happy Birthday!
